finally better!!!
We have been sick for weeks!!! Mallorie and Lola ended up with strep throat and my cold lasted for a long time. Matthew got Influenza A. He was so sick he even missed work for four days. He actually wanted more time off and should have take it, but we pushed him. Now he is on the way up. he feels good, but is tired all the time.
Thankfully we are getting better because it is almost spring. We are even having nice days. Early in the afternoon on Saturday it was 65 degrees. Utah weather is so screwy because that evening it snowed about 3 inches and now it is cold again. The warm days mean that we are coming out of winter and gives me hope of an eventual thaw out and then we can play outside.
We all got sick
This week was bad. Everyone but Abby got a cold. We just stayed home and felt sorry for ourselves. This was nice on thursday, though. It started snowing wednesday afternoon and didn’t stop on until thursday afternoon. We ended up with about 24 inches of snow in our front yard. It was awesome. We couldn’t even pull our van out of the driveway. We had to borrow a snowblower and dig our selves out, this was not a snow to be shoveled!! The only bad part, Matthew was not feeling well and so he couldn’t go out and play in it on saturday. Oh well, hopefully it will be still here next weekend.
Abby is sick!!
Abby has been sick since sunday morning. She had a fever all day sunday and monday it spiked around 103.5 for about 2 hours. I took her to the doctor to rule out an ear infection, but her ears were good. We thought it was just a cold, but this morning she has a rash on her chest and neck and some on her face. Of course now we know it is the baby measles or roseola. Mallorie had this too. Now that the rash is here it means that the worst is over and she will be all better soon and we don’t have to miss playgroup tomarrow or church on sunday. I guess I jumped the gun on going to the doctor, I do that sometimes. Our kids don’t get sick very often so I don’t really know how to handle it very well yet.
Mallorie’s birthday.
Today is Mallorie’s birthday. She is 4 years old now. I just can’t believe it. She is so excited for her day, we are going to go ride bikes for a while and then go to lunch. This afternoon we are going to make a cake for her and open a present tonight. Sunday night we are going to have a party with her cousins and aunts and uncles.

I can’t believe that our beloved leader has died. I feel so sad, but at the same time I am glad that he is finally with his lovely wife again. I had a dream about him last night. He was conducting a meeting in the Spirit World. He was the same only younger and a lot faster. He seemed so happy. I believe this is how he feels. His work on earth was done and now it is time to start his work there. I can imagine the reception he got in the spirit world. Of course his wife was there, but also all of those who have been blessed by the many temples he has built. I just want to say thank you for your service Pres. Hinckley. We will miss you, but have hope that we will see you again.
good weekend ahead
Good morning!! It is friday and we have a whole weekend where we do not have to leave town. This is exciting. It is snowing like crazy, so I think Matthew might get sick about noon and have to come home from work. He will be skiing all morning tomarrow. Abby and I are the only one’s awake so far. Mallorie and Lola got to stay up late to watch the end of Cinderella, so I don’t expect them up for a while. We are going to spend some time today getting ready for Mallorie’s birthday next week. I think we will be having a party for her on sunday.
Klondike Derby and Court of Honor
This last week has been all about scouts. We have been trying to get ready for the Klondike Derby held on friday and saturday. Bert made an amazing sled that was literally the fastest one there, but due to technical problems they didn’t get to participate in the championship race. Despite this disappointment the boys had a great time. Now it is time to focus on the court of honor on wednesday. This is the one with the hot dog eating contest. It will be loads of fun!!!
